Traveling by Water

At Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage, everything revolves around water – so what better way to get here than by traveling over the water? And the best part: you can take your bike with you for free! Here are your options:

By WaterShuttle

Visiting us on FridaySaturday, or Sunday? Then you can take the WaterShuttle from Rotterdam. In less than half an hour, this service brings you quickly and comfortably to the entrance of the windmill area. But please note: the WaterShuttle is not part of the public transport system. You will need a separate ticket, which you can easily order together with your Kinderdijk entrance ticket via our website.

By Waterbus

You can also travel to Kinderdijk by Waterbus from Rotterdam or Dordrecht. There are a few routes you can choose from:

Transfer Ridderkerk
With Line 20 from Rotterdam or Dordrecht, change at the Schans stop in Ridderkerk to the ‘Driehoeksveer‘. From there you are in Kinderdijk within a few minutes. Please note: the ‘Driehoeksveer’ is not part of the Waterbus, you will need to buy a separate ticket here.

Stop at Kade Alblasserdam
Only if you bring a bike with you, disembarking at the stop Kade in Alblasserdam (Line 20) is an option. From there it is a fifteen minute bike ride to the entrance of the windmill area.
