With two to three hours, you’ll have plenty of time to experience different sides of Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage. Start with the introductory film at Pumping Station De Fabriek, continue to the Wisboom Pumping Station, and then board the Hopper to the Nederwaard Museum Mill. Along the way, listen to the audio tour and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch at the Kinderdijk-cafe.
Start with the Story Behind Kinderdijk
Begin your visit at Pumping Station De Fabriek, where you watch the introductory film about Kinderdijk and its water management system. From there, walk to Wisboom Pumping Station. A volunteer is on hand to explain how the pumping stations and windmills have worked together to keep the polders dry. As you continue your walk, the audio tour connects the different locations with stories about the area.
